Terms and Conditions

1. An instruction to carry out work, whether written or verbal will be taken as acceptance of the terms and conditions detailed below.

2. An estimate is given as an approximate price calculated with all reasonable care by use of available and visible information obtained at the time of the quotation, it will be given where an exact price is impossible to give due to lack of information or inaccessible installations.

3. A quotation is an offer to complete the work specified at the price given, any further work requested by the client will be accepted via new quotation or an updated quotation as agreed by the client and New Wave Electrical Contractors Ltd. A quotation is made on the assumption that the work requested is reasonably capable of being carried out. If on inspection this is found in our opinion not to be the case, we will advise the client to this effect as soon as reasonably practicable and may offer the client a reconditioned or new substitute on terms to be agreed. If the client gives a general instruction for repairs without specifying the particular service or replacement parts, we will be entitled to carry out such repairs or, modifications or service as in our opinion are necessary to put the client's Equipment in good working order, and to make an appropriate charge for the work and parts provided.

4. Provided the client’s order is placed within thirty days of the date of the quotation, the price contained on the quotation shall be fixed unless the quotation states otherwise. If the client’s order is not placed in that period, then if any change shall occur after that in the costs of any materials, labour, transport or other items, including overheads, which New Wave Electrical Contractors Ltd. have to pay or incur for the performance of the Contract, then the client will pay the resultant price.

5. All work carries a 1-year Guarantee against defective workmanship or installation materials. Electronic equipment, luminaries and all other accessories which carry a manufacturer’s warranty will be subject to that warranty. New Wave Electrical Contractors Ltd. will accept no responsibility for defects introduced by tampering or alterations made to the electrical installation after the completion of the works.

6. Prices do not include any charges made by the electricity supply authority (DNO) unless otherwise stated.

7. Variations to the quote, or additional work required will be detailed by the client as soon as possible to enable an updated quotation/estimate to be agreed upon by the client and New Wave Electrical Contractors Ltd.

8. Emergency work will be agreed with between the client and New Wave Electrical Contractors Ltd. prior to work being carried out. Should urgent work be required and the client not available, New Wave Electrical Contractors Ltd. will endeavour to carry out the work using the safest and most cost-effective solution to the client unless expressly forbidden beforehand. This work will be chargeable to the client. This may result in certain circuits being isolated until a safe and cost-effective solution be found to the problem.

9. All work will be carried out by suitably qualified engineers and will comply with all relevant and current British Standards alongside other applicable regulations.

10. All work will be ‘made good’ by New Wave Electrical Contractors Ltd.; this is limited re-fitment of floor boarding and carpets but does not include plastering unless stated in the estimate/quotation or redecoration.

11. All electrical materials and accessories will remain the property of New Wave Electrical Contractors Ltd. until final payment is received.

12. Equipment and accessories supplied by the client; New Wave Electrical Contractors Ltd. reserves the right to refuse to fit sub-standard, non-compliant accessories or equipment supplied by the client. Quotes and estimates tendered by the company are based on the fitting of standard electrical accessories. Accessories that require excessive preparation, modification or non-standard fitment may incur extra cost to the client. Any additional work needed after completion due to faulty materials (supplied by the client) will be charged directly to the client.

13. Whilst undertaking testing works and periodic inspections, it is the responsibility of the client to disconnect from the mains any sensitive equipment which will be damaged by high voltages, this may include computers, telephones, charging equipment and kitchen appliances. The client must inform New Wave Electrical Contractors Ltd. if they suspect that any PIR outside lighting equipment may be connected to the socket ring main.

14. Billing. For work of an estimated contracted period of more than one-month, New Wave Electrical Contractors Ltd. will invoice clients on a two-weekly period for materials and labour costs. All invoices will have a payment request for payment in full to be made within 7 days from the invoice date or satisfactory completion.

15. Waste removal. Unless stated for or agreed in a quotation waste of any kind will not be removed once the work is completed. An extra cost will be occurred if us New Wave Electrical Contractors Ltd. are instructed by the client to remove the waste at any point from start to finish of the agreed works.

16. New Wave Electrical Contractors Ltd. are not responsible for any materials onsite that may be stolen or removed at any point through the installation due to the site (works address) NOT being secure for any reason. New Wave Electrical Contractors Ltd.’s liability tradesman’s insurance will not cover any losses due to this condition.

17. The client shall be responsible for the accuracy of any designs, specifications and other data, which the client or their employees or agents supply to New Wave Electrical Contractors Ltd., which we use in connection with the Services, even if we examine, inspect or comment upon them. New Wave Electrical Contractors Ltd. waives any liability to a third party as a result of carrying out the Services in accordance with the client’s instructions, designs, drawings, specifications or other data.

18. Warranty; New Wave Electrical Contractors Ltd. will take reasonable care of the client’s equipment whilst it is in our custody and make good any loss damage caused by our failure to exercise reasonable care, our liability being limited to the replacement value of the equipment. We also undertake to use reasonable skill and care in carrying out the work and to use materials, which are suitable quality and free from defects. Unless otherwise agreed, we will rectify defective work and /or defective materials notified to us in writing within six months of the completion of the work and liability for defective work and/or defective materials is limited to the invoice value thereof. We will have no responsibility for other loss or damage, including (without limitation) loss profit or production, except as required by law

19. New Wave Electrical Contractors Ltd. will not be liable to the client for any failure to perform our obligations under this agreement where that failure results from any cause outside our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural occurrences, disruption of power supplies, the action of third parties or industrial action.
